Just 2 months ago I would never have imagined that I would have lost 12kg’s and had a total different outlook on food, self-image and life itself. Working with the kind-hearted dietician, Inge Nieder-Heitmann has been such an amazing journey so far. She has been encouraging, with thorough guidance and that little angle voice in the back of your head encouraging you not to stray from the path when otherwise you would have. She has also had a gentle, but firm approach not making one feel like they are being pressured into something they do not feel equipped to do, but at the same time encouraging me to be the very best I can be. She has been eager to work around your daily routine where necessary and shared various recipes to facilitate the process and challenges that one can face with cooking. So far it has been an amazing journey, especially with the positive and eager help I have been receiving from her
My daughter was hospitalised for 7 days, and consequently diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis and anorexia. We were referred to Inge to assist us. At the time of our first meeting with Inge, my daughter weighed 42kg as a result of her illness. Inge was extremely supportive and compassionate with her, and we immediately started with the changes she suggested. Within a short period of time, she started gaining a healthy amount of weight, and within 3 months, she had gained 6kg with Inge’s assistance and weekly weigh ins. Since 2015, Inge’s dietary recommendations have assisted her tremendously, and she has not been hospitalised since. She now weighs a very healthy 53kg and has been able to maintain this weight with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Inge was really a rock during this difficult time and we can strongly recommend her assistance, empathy and knowledge to anyone.
Inge is very insightful and has a vast knowledge that helped enlighten and educate me enough to clear up the misconceptions I had about food and health. I now know that I don’t need to eat less for better health and weight, but instead to eat right. Inge has helped me to make the best choices for my health. Mind and body has been remade over a year because of the healthy choices I made and continue making. Feeling full of energy and life is wonderful!
In the middle of last year my doctor noticed that I had quite high cholesterol for someone my age. Before considering medications, she suggested that I try change my diet to see if that would lower my cholesterol. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to do this on my own and so decided to try visiting a dietician. I had previously been to a dietician but the eating plan I had been given had been too strict and my new lifestyle hadn’t lasted very long. During my first appointment with Inge I was really impressed by her approach. She asked me what my reasons were for seeing a dietician and what goals I had in mind. She then asked me about my current diet and exercise schedule. After creating a meal plan for me she explained the thinking behind the plan and how it would help us reach our goal.

She also answered any questions I had, no matter how silly they seemed. She made it seem as if we were a team and were working together to reach my goals. Now I leave each appointment feeling motivated to lead a healthier lifestyle. However, the most important part is that that feeling remains with me throughout the following weeks. I have learned that your eating plan is all about balance and has made me discover that I really enjoy eating healthy foods! This is especially impressive considering I have big sweet tooth and used to eat Cheerios for breakfast every day. Now I eat oats breakfast and love it. Inge’s guidance has also taught me to not be afraid to try new things like a new recipe or different foods. Now I feel excited when planning my weekly meals and enjoy my meals so much more knowing that they are fuelling my body. Inge is also the reason that I ran my first half marathon last year. It was one of the goals that we set to motivate me to live a healthier lifestyle. Having a dietitian has allowed me to live a healthier life by encouraging and challenging me to make these diet changes and stick to them. Inge is always there to offer advice when I am struggling and remind me that nobody’s eating plan is perfect. I am very grateful that I went to Inge and am forever indebted for the healthy lifestyle lessons she has taught me. I know these lessons and the mindset I have adapted will serve me well for many years to come.
Our healthier lifestyle started with the help of Inge before my husband had an operation on his wrist. He had severe gout and had to make use of “gout cocktails” on a daily basis. Our Orthopaedic Surgeon advised us to see Inge.
We are living in Namibia which means that we eat red meat on a daily basis and that fresh fruit and vegetables are difficult to find, Inge explained to us the importance of moderation. She also compiled a mealplan for us and supplied us with recipes and practical advice to start living a healthier life. She took into account our likes and dislikes as well as whether we are active or inactive and made sure that she sets up a plan that will fit into our daily lives.
Our entire household started following her advice and we haven’t looked back for a second.

Wanting to lose the last bit of weight to reach my dream goal, I never thought that my visit to Beat Dieticians would change my life completely. The meal plan I received were carefully designed to suit my body type, daily activities and most importantly, my health. After following the meal plan for only 4 weeks, I came to the positive realisation that I had more energy every day to achieve personal goals and at the end it resulted in more self-love and confidence.

I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago and decided to seek help from Lindie as I was unable to eat anything without my colon cramping or feeling nauseous. I was reffered to Lindie by an OB-GYN back in February 2018 with a condition called Polycystic ovary syndrome. In a nutshell I had to cut out table sugar and unhealthy fat in my diet. A month after my first consultation with Mrs Mosehuus the doctor noticed positive results. I weighted 75.5kg but lost 10kg within 6/7months.
